Leadership
Gerry Miller
Pastor Gerry Miller was called as New Hope Church’s senior pastor at its family night / business meeting on July 20, 2008, following the retirement of founding pastor Rev. David W. Yount.
Gerry joined the staff of New Hope Church as Associate Pastor in June 2006. He was initially assigned to oversee several ministries, including the then newly organized Couples Ministry and College Ministry. Gerry came to know the Lord as his personal Savior while in college. Gerry’s primary secular work had been in management. He at first thought that he could bring with him proven business principles that he could utilize in fulfilling his pastoral calling. He has since looked at the biblical model of church, drawing principles of body life reflected in the early church in the book of Acts, which now are embodied in the church’s vision statement.
Gerry is a teacher and a preacher of the Word. He and his wife Joyce have 6 adult children—Greg, Peter, Katie, Ellen, Luke and Leslie, five of whom are married. He and Joyce have six grandchildren. His favorite hobby is bike riding. His life verse is found in Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” These verses embody what he would like to see God do through New Hope Church.
Nila Dimangondayao
Nila is New Hope’s Director for Worship and Arts Ministries. She came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Savior when she was 17 as a result of the clear presentation of the gospel by a Campus Crusade for Christ staff at a choir retreat. She has been involved in music ministry, training musicians for close to 50 years with her husband Ed, an accomplished pianist and music director. Nila and Ed have 2 children on earth, Dennis (married to Lorajoy Tira), and Via; 2 daughters in heaven, Trixia and Charlene; and four grandchildren, Alyssa, Armin, Santiago and Isabel. They love to travel with family to nice vacation places and scenic locations in the US, Canada, Asia and Europe. Nila loves to read books written by Christian authors Max Lucado, Ann Voskamp and Joel Rosenberg, and by historical fiction writer Bodie Thoene. She loves photography and videography, as well as making lattes and cooking. She also delights in leading women’s Bible studies and sharing Bible discoveries. Her favorite Scripture verse is Philippians 3:14—“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Bryan Jacobs
Pastor Bryan Jacobs was ordained for ministry at New Hope Church in August 2017. Bryan serves as the Associate Pastor of New Hope Church. He has also provided leadership over both the high-school Youth Ministry and the 2-4 Life Young Couples Ministry.
Bryan graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Exposition. He came to know the Lord in January 2012 at the age of 18. Since then he has been involved in preaching and teaching ministries in various forms. The emphasis of his pulpit ministry is the careful exegesis of God’s Word according to its historical and grammatical context. Bryan has been married to his wife Jessica since May 2015. Jessica assists in the Worship & Arts Ministries at New Hope Church. Together they enjoy coffee and quality time as a family.
Bryan’s foundation for ministry is the statement of Jesus in John 17:17, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” (ESV).
